Mia's Wood is a local charity, set up by Mia's family & friends.  Being part of the community is important to us.  Our volunteers are part of the Mia's Wood magic.

Children and young people

We have already have links with

We welcome further links with schools and groups working with children and young people in the local area who would like to use Mia’s Wood to provide outdoor experiences as a one-off or regular opportunity.  Have a look at what we offer for Forest Schools

Group environmental activities

Mia’s Wood offers a local opportunity for school volunteer programmes and corporates who might be looking for ways to give back to the community.  Your help and support are always very welcome!


In 2016, Mia’s Wood was a partner in the Milton Keynes College National Citizenship Service programme where students helped with woodland maintenance, fundraising & MiaFest preparations.


In 2017, a Santander Community Day team helped us out hugely with MiaFest preparations by strimming and creating decorations.

Volunteer opportunities

We are always keen to have support from volunteers – and we always have a great time!  You might be interested in


  • Participating in woodland maintenance fun

  • Leading woodland development activities

  • Gaining work experience at MiaFest

  • Event management of our Charity Ball


However, we regret that we are unable to offer internships or full-time work experience.



Creative and performing arts

We would also welcome links with art and performing groups interested in innovative ways about communicating about nature through art, sculpture or theatre.   


We are also open to joint grant applications for nature-based activities or theatre
